MMAARS-Nautilus Ops emerged in 2014 as the aquanautics and ocean exploration division of MMAARS, extending a decade of leadership in analog astronautics into the undersea domain. We have led high-fidelity analog missions across land, sea, air, and space, designing mission-based training that embeds human performance science, AI-enabled systems, and space life sciences within isolated, confined, and extreme environments.

Our leadership combines analog astronautics, hyperbaric and dive medicine, aviation, and human factors expertise. Analog astronaut and physician-scientist Dr. Susan Jewell, record-holding aquanaut and hyperbaric specialist Dr. Joseph Dituri, and aviation and human factors expert Dame Emmy Jewell anchor a governance structure that prioritizes safety and data integrity. Their experience underpins every mission in our platform.

We envision permanent underwater habitats operating as high-fidelity analogs for lunar and Martian bases, advancing both ocean stewardship and sustainable off-world living for future generations. Our mission architectures align with global initiatives such as Artemis and commercial settlement concepts, transforming aquanautics training and research into a practical pathway toward multi-environment human habitation.
